About Us
Camp Fire has been an innovative leader in youth development for 114 years.
We have a rich legacy! You might remember us as Camp Fire Girls or Camp Fire USA, which were key parts of our organizational journey. What’s kept us thriving? Our commitment to diversity and inclusion from the very beginning; incorporating youth voice into all we do; our intentional effort to reflect, evolve, and use cutting-edge research to best meet the needs of today’s families; and remarkable people like you!
In 2017, we completed our integration of Thrive{ology} across all 54 councils, launched the Camp Fire National Headquarters Five-Year Business and Fund Development Plan, received a third investment from the S. D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation for $2.5 million, and were selected in a highly competitive process to be one of the Seach Institute’s five national partners for their Relationships Outcome Initiative (ROI) focused on strengthening adult-youth relationships.
About our Council
Our council, Heart of Texas, has been helping the kids of Johnson County, Texas find their sparks since 1937. Our club program provides kids a safe space to find their passion in life, learn, and grow. Kids Pre-K -12th grades become members of groups within our council. Throughout the year, we host various activities such as Spook Out and Camp Tesuya, as well as community outreach projects, and so much more!
